Continuing their celebration of the International Women’s Day 2021 and aiming to contribute to the replenishing the blood availability of Bhubaneswar, Jai Odisha - Shakti in association with the Red Cross Society today organized an all women blood donation camp, in Durga Mandap, Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
Ladies from all walks of life from various age groups and different backgrounds attended the event. It started at 9am with 8 women queuing up to donate blood, which is a rare sight. Around 40 women donated their blood. They were all felicitated by Shakti. The whole event was organized by the women of Shakti.
Speaking on the event, Shri Rudra Narayan Samantaray, the founder of Jai Odisha - Shakti said that he was overwhelmed to see the response of mothers and sisters and that only this blood drive truely indicated the divinity in each woman. He also said that such selfless deeds done by our mothers and sisters need to be saluted and applauded in every which way.
