As per some estimates, there are about 25 lakh migrant workers of Odisha who have relocated to other states of India in search of livelihood.These workers are from all sections of the society, These workers started returning to their hometowns due to the lockdowns imposed during the Covid Pandemic.
In a bid to bring relief to such migrant brothers and sisters, Jai Odisha helped out by providing temporary accommodation, food and transportation to such people. With the intent to strengthen the efforts of the local authorities and by working closely with them, Jai Odisha is able to successfully help the migrant workers reach their destination.
These efforts will continue after the pandemic too. Jai Odisha plans to become a facilitation unit for helping out the families of the migrant workers staying home, while they earn their living outside Odisha.
